Why come to Ashen Equestrian Centre?

There are plenty of freelance riding instructors offering lessons at your yard and while for some horse owners the convenience of these "hit and run" lessons cannot be denied why do so many horse owners go to the time and trouble of coming on courses at Ashen E.C instead?

What you can expect from courses at Ashen E.C.

A warm welcome for you and your horse.

“I was really nervous when I booked my first course but the atmosphere was so relaxed that me and my horse felt at home straight away, we learned loads and have made some life-long friends”  J.P

A total emersion experience and value for your time and money.

“I work and have a family, lessons at home had to be shoe-horned in around real-life and I fell into the pattern of booking lessons, “same time next week”.  I was paying to be told the same thing week in, week out without making real progress.  By taking time out from the hustle and bustle of daily life and focusing on my relationship with my horse and booking two or three courses a year with Becky means my horse and me have made more progress, and actually saved money compared to my weekly lessons.” J.B

To work towards your goals.

“It doesn’t matter if you are a happy hacker or an advanced rider Becky works towards the individuals’ aims and has a passion for coaching all riders”.  S.P

Your time and efforts to be respected.

“Whether you are the first or last rider of the day Becky invests as much energy and enthusiasm in everyone.”  M.S

Tangible, lasting changes.

“One course with Becky has provided me with a greater understanding and more learning than all the years of lessons before combined.”  S.M

Your expectations to be exceeded.

“Becky’s courses came highly recommended by a number of friends but I still took some convincing to come, I’m so glad I did, we achieved more than I could have hoped and I was inspired by the other horses and riders on the course.”  G.W

Great facilities.

“The arena surface, stables, paddocks, workshop room and viewing areas are second to none, well designed and maintained, a pleasure to stay and visit.”  T.F

To be informal but well-structured and organised.

“From the email confirming my place to packing up and going home I knew where to be and what to do and loved the combination of in-hand, ridden and dismounted techniques we learned.”  D.S

Not to be judged.

“Everyone was on our side, nobody laughed at me or made me feel silly.”  J.S

Long-term (emotional and physical) soundness of horse and rider of horse and rider as a top priority.

“Lovely to be able to find someone in Becky who respects my choice not to use gadgets and to come to a yard where nobody does, where everyone loves their horse and is looking for long-term solutions rather than quick fixes.”  C.K

To work at a pace appropriate for you and your horse.

“I never feel under pressure to keep up with everyone else and love it when Becky asks me, “How are you for brain-space?” before moving on.”  V.S

Lots of laughs.

Becky’s apparent compatibility with anyone she coaches and any horse she sits on is incredible.  Her unconventional way of explaining things hits people from all walks of life and her sense of fun and humour is second to none, I was crying laughter throughout.”  D.S

Homemade cakes.

“I loved the course and the cake and will be back for more of both!” J.S
